Mona Lisa is A(L)I(VE)!

Imagine someone creating a Deepfake video of you simply by stealing your Facebook profile pic. The bad guys don't have their hands on that tech yet, but Samsung has figured out how to make it happen...

For all of you AI-lovers out there we have an astonishing video to share! Artificial Intelligence has made it possible to bring the breathtaking Mona Lisa to life. Only based on one picture of Mona Lisa (the one and only actually) a Samsung artificial intelligence lab in Russia shows the ability to convincingly turn artworks and celebrity photographs into moving images. Even more impressive is the fact that the moving images look extraordinarily real.

These so called Deepfake videos usually require a big data set of images to fabricate a fake video of someone, but the AI system developed by Samsung created a fake clip from a single picture. But have a look at it yourself!

In case you even want to get some additional information regarding the work behind that and which techniques the system used in order to create such deepfake video, have a look at this one too:

Post-World War II heavy investment and technology innovations have produced radical improvements that have made prosthetics more functional, comfortable, and realistic. Researchers have struggled with providing prosthetics with a sense of touch, but not anymore. Over the past fifteen years, a biomedical engineering team at the University of Utah have developed a prosthetic arm that allows users to feel what they are touching inspired by ...
