How does this device work?
Amiko is associated with a connected plateform called Respiro in order to upgrade respiratory care. Respiro’s sensors capture really well patients’ inhalation flow rate, flow acceleration, inhalation volume and time. These devices are compatible with market leading inhalers, for example,  NEXThaler® (Chiesi Farmaceutici), Ellipta® (GlaxoSmithKline) and Spiromax® (Teva Pharmaceutical Industries). At the heart of Respiro, there is an Arm Cortex-M processor where runs a real-time machine algorithm. The production cost of this device and power consumption are really low, which makes it more attractive. It collects data via Bluetooth of patients’ smartphones and gives a personalized feedback within few seconds.  

According to World Health Organization (WHO), annually there are 250 thousand of death attributed to asthma disease. This kind of medical devices could constantly improve asthmatics lives and reduce the risk of death to its minimum.
